Aster Spring Intense Acne Facial @ Gurney Plaza

I have bad skin. Can't deny. During secondary school years, I have pimples all over my face. Not severe, but its always there. As I got older, the pimple clear out a bit but they still appear monthly (ahem during red alert) and my skin has also gotten sensitive with oil seed and large pores :( Can you feel me. So I have not gotten a facial since January 2014 and with the hot weather these few months back, the effect on my skin in definitely very much visible. It took me this much to say "HEY I NEED A FACIAL NOW!"

I celebrated Sultan of Perak's birthday by visiting Aster Spring in Gurney Plaza. Its located on the 1st floor next to Parkson. The beautician that greeted me was Donna. I thought she was a bit snobbish at first but I was wrong. During my facial she was very pleasant and friendly. She recommended a facial that was wayyyyyyyyyy beyond  my budget RM300++. I asked for something below RM200 and she recommended their current promotion "Fighting Acne with Intense Acne Clearing Therapy". It also comes with a free 50m foaming cleanser for you to try before buying any of their product. I think its not bad for RM180.

I was directed to a changing room to change into their gown and given a locker with key to keep my handbag. During the facial Donna check with me if I could tolerate pain during extraction. I needed the extraction. I know some people do not believe in extraction, but if you do it the right way I don't think it will damage the skin or cause scarring. She washed my face, provided me a face massage, proceeded to extraction, serum application with some machine massage and finally mask. All this was done in 2 hours which I think is not too bad. Most of the time consumed was during extraction.

I was keen on getting a package so she commended me their Intense Acne Clearing Therapy package 4 times facial for RM984. Usual price per facial is about RM300++ so this is at RM246 each. The package also comes with a 50ml Foaming cleanser and 50ml All Over Toner. She also gave me 3 samples i. Breakout clearing over night treatment, ii.Blackhead clearing pore control scrub and iii. Breakout clearing emergency spot fix. You can check their product out on www.clearstart.com.On top of that, there is also a welcome beauty box if you spend RM500 and above. The box consist of products from their in house brand. A lipstick from Averine, hair oil from Davines and a multi toner from Dermalogica. There is also a gift voucher book.

Lipstick is missing from picture. Given to mama. One facial wash is in the bathroom :)

The price of the facial is definitely a lot. So it better be worth it. There was no hard selling so I really appreciate that. I hate saying no to people. One thing I don't like about Aster Spring, their facial packages cannot be used nationwide. Seriously WHY? Its all under one management. You could attract more customers if you actually try to be a little bit more flexible. And if you want to change the centre you signed up at, you need to write in and wait for approval. So if you decided you want to take a holiday in KL and you need a facial, the package you signed up in Penang can't be used.

So why not give it a try. Bought a voucher of a Mystery hotel in KL. Expiring in August! I'm excited!

Lush Sea Vegetable Soap Review

So this week my best friend came back from UK. She'll be here for half a month only then going back to UK to do her masters. Explains why i went MIA :X

Anyways, she got me two bar of soap 😍😍 from Lush!! One was this Sea Vegetable. Another one was Sultana of Soap. I shall review the other soap in maybe two weeks or after I've use this one up.

Sea Vegetable 

 

Ingredients :

Propylene Glycol, Water, Rapeseed Oil and Coconut Oil, Coarse Sea Salt, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Hydroxide, Arame Seaweed, Lime Oil, Lavender Oil, Seaweed Absolute, Glycerine, Sodium Chloride, EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, *Citral, *Geraniol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Perfume, Colour 42090, Colour 19140

*occurs naturally in essential oil

 

When I opened up the wrapping, the first smell that comes to me is lime. It smells refreshing, looks a bit doubtful but once I used it, I definitely fell in love with this soap.

 

Pros:

1. Clean feeling after used.

2. Refreshing scent.

3. Noticed skin more moisturized after sometime of usage.

4. Despite containing SLS, it doesnt foam up much. Must be a good thing right? ;)

 

Cons:

1. Doesnt foam up much. If you like bubbles, too bad.

2. Scent is not long lasting.

 

Priced at 3.10pounds/100gm, its going to be hard to repurchase :X

I give this soap 4 out of 5 bunnies :D

 

Fabulous Finds Beauty Box Review

First of all, I'd like to apologize as I'm going to postpone the Lush Sea Vegetable Soap review. This is because I'm so excited at what I got in my mailbox today!! :D

So it has been three months that I have been subscribing to Fabulous Finds Beauty Box. It's a monthly RM35 subscription fee which can be cancelled anytime. Every month, Fabulous Finds would send out their beauty box on the 15th and I would usually receive them immediately on the 16th. This also depends where are you staying.

The Fab Box comes big a protective box. Inside the box has these hard cover box so you dont have worry about receiving damaged surprises.(Boohoo!) And when you open the box, taadaa! All wrapped up with a ribbon, silver paper and their Fabulous Find seal.
